SLEEP THERAPY PRODUCTS & SERVICES
Why is a CPAP or BIPAP prescribed?
CPAP and BIPAP machines are available for patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea, and sometimes Respiratory Assist Devices (RADS) - An Advanced BIPAP with breathing Rate is prescribed for Complex Sleep Apnea. Patient will undergo a sleep study, where the type and severity of Sleep Apnea is diagnosed. The pressure of these machines are then titrated to treat the diagnosed sleep apnea. Left untreated Sleep Apnea greatly increases the risk of high blood pressure, stroke, heart failure, diabetes, depression, ADHD, headaches, and common symptoms include heavy snoring, stop breathing, and daytime sleepiness.
Sleep Studies are often done in a Sleep Laboratory, and sleep technicians monitor many data points, such as vital signs, apneas, and neurological parameters throughout the night. The technician will adjust the pressure of the machine to achieve the necessary results, either using a CPAP, BIPAP or Respiratory Assist Device to reduce snoring and apneas to a therapeutic level.
